Dave Christner was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee and raised in a small farming community in southwestern Oklahoma. He received a BA and an MA from the University of Oklahoma. Two plays of his Vietnam Trilogy--The Wall and Bui-Doi: The Dust of Life--have been recognized in national playwriting competitions. The Walk, Red Hot Mamas, The Babe, The Bard and the Baron, Ezra and Evil, The Bitch of Bailey's Beach, Free Shot, and This Blood's For You have also been winners or have won recognition in national/international playwriting competitions. Speculations on the cosmos, sex, war, religion, injustice, aging, environmental exploitation, and capital punishment have formed the thematic content of the plays he has written so far. Good and evil are always topics of humorous debate in his work: good because it is so scarce, and evil because it is so interesting. The playwright is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Inc., the American Community Theatre Association, and is published by The Dramatic Publishing Company and on-line at ProPlays.com.
